Kisaru was established by Alex McLean to provide climate and nature advisory services and experiences.

Alex is passionate about the responsible protection and rehabilitation of the natural world. He serves on the board of the Global Rewilding Alliance and is a non-resident fellow of the Payne Institute for Public Policy. He provides sustainability and energy transition advisory services, leads immersive nature journeys and tells conservation stories through his photography.

Alex is a FGASA qualified field guide, a Licentiate of the Irish Photographic Federation and Artiste de la Federacion Internacional de Artes Photographic. He hosts private and small group photography safaris to East and Southern Africa. In addition to capturing great images, Alex aims to ensure all his guests leave with a much deeper appreciation of the rich ecosystem they are visiting, as well as a better understanding of the complex challenges in conserving and restoring wild places.

Prior to establishing Kisaru, Alex spent thirty years in some of the largest law firms in Ireland and Australia, advising government, regulators, financial institutions, corporates and NGO's on strategic, policy, regulatory, project and transactional matters in the energy and environment sectors. He has dedicated much of his career to advancing the energy transition and transforming organisational culture to embrace sustainability and corporate responsibility.

Alex established and led the award winning Infrastructure, Construction & Utilities Group, Pro Bono Practice and the cross-disciplinary Sustainability and ESG Practices at the leading Irish law firm, Arthur Cox. He also spent eight years serving on the Arthur Cox Sustainable Business Committee. He was named Energy Lawyer of the Year (globally) by Who's Who Legal in 2021.
